FOUNDER STORY

Once upon a time, on 1st October 1976, an innovator and game changer named Professor Askwar Hilonga was born. He was the youngest of nine children born to Hilonga Gidqusberg and Agatha. Professor Hilonga began his educational journey at Gongali Primary School in January 1985. Little did anyone know that this young boy would grow up to become a renowned professor, chemical engineer, and senior lecturer at Nelson Mandela University, making significant contributions to society.

On 9th April 2007, Professor Hilonga’s life took a beautiful turn when he married a brilliant woman named Ruth Elineema. Ruth held a Master of Business Administration from Ajou University in South Korea. As time passed, Ruth became the CEO of Gongali Model Company, showcasing her exceptional leadership skills.

Driven by his desire to make a positive impact on his community in Gongali, Professor Hilonga decided to utilize his education to address a pressing issue: the lack of clean and safe water. He embarked on a mission to develop a groundbreaking technology called the Nano Filter. This innovative water filtration system not only provided clean and safe water but also created employment opportunities.

Professor Hilonga’s Nano Filter technology has since contributed to the creation of over 127 jobs and has benefited more than 300,000 people across Africa, ensuring they have access to the most basic and essential resource-clean water.Top of Form
